play Play to Learn Philosophy "PLAY"

Unlimited learning, fun and happiness for all who step inside.

"PLAY" is a simple word but an extremely complex, deep learning process.

The very early years of one's life are the most vital for well-rounded development. Promoting high self-esteem in turn develops independence and has a strong deep influence on a child's ability to explore his/her world.

We believe "PLAY" is the most important, aspect in a child's life. "PLAY" in coordination with proper adult guidance.

We believe in spontaneous free play in a child initiated world. It allows children to be busy with their worlds, to understand and put into practice their learning experiences from adult interventions at home, school and children's social interactions.
As professionals we know the stages of play children go through.

We believe in:

  • STRUCTURED PLAY - which qualified adults plan, promote and intervene in.
  • SOLE PLAY - where children are able to play alone in their own world until ready to socialize with others.
  • PARALLEL PLAY - where children begin to play alongside each other, becoming non verbal partners.
  • CO-OPERATIVE PLAY – in which as they learn through co-operating with each other, play together and make decisions for themselves.
  • ROLE PLAY - where children act out events, experiences in life, their sadness, their happiness, their needs, worries, love and true feelings.
  • SYMBOLIC PLAY - when children imagine/pretend that something may become another idea in their imaginations.
  • THERAPEUTIC PLAY - where children engage in play that is relaxing, therapeutic and allows them to become deep thinkers.
  • SOCIO-DRAMATIC PLAY - either adult guidance or child initiated, where groups large or small perform and act out events.

We believe our role is to develop confident children who are happy to explore their next stage in life with a sense of curiosity, imagination and the enthusiasm to learn. If a child has difficulties, it is our role to support their learning and to guide their way.
